2. In short

Capybara Squad works without a user account. Your save data stays on your device. We do not receive any personal data from you such as your name, email address or location. Some technical data is processed by services the game uses (Google Play, GitHub), as explained below.

3. Data on your device

The game stores your progress and settings (e.g. language, sound, vibration) only locally on your device. This data is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in the settings under “Saves” or by uninstalling the app.

4. Event data from the internet

So that we can change events (e.g. bonus weekends) without an app update, the game downloads a small file with event dates from our website when it starts. The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

For this download your IP address, date and time, and technical information about the app or device are necessarily transmitted to GitHub. GitHub processes this data to deliver the file and to keep its service secure. We do not see or analyse this data. No save data or other personal data is uploaded.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the game up to date (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. More information: GitHub Privacy Statement.

5. Google Play

You download the game via Google Play (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google processes data according to its own terms: Google Privacy Policy.

Through the Google Play Console we receive aggregated statistics from Google, e.g. the number of installs and anonymous crash and error reports. We cannot identify individual persons from them. We use them to improve the game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you buy something in the game, the purchase is handled by Google Play. We do not receive your payment details. We only learn that a certain item was bought so that we can unlock it in the game (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

6. This website

This website is also hosted on GitHub Pages (see section 4). When you visit it, GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address in server logs. We do not use cookies, analytics or tracking services and do not load content from third-party servers (the font is hosted on this site). Your language choice (German/English) is stored only in your browser (local storage) and is not transmitted.

If you email us, we use your details only to answer your request and delete them afterwards unless we are legally required to keep them (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

7. Children

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The game works without an account, chat or entering any personal data.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to the email address above. Since we hold hardly any data about you, we can often only refer you to the services named above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

9. Changes

If the game changes (e.g. new features), we will update this policy. The version published here applies.
